KING & SPALDING has extended its relationship with Atlanta energy producer and marketer Mirant Corp., advising the company on an agreement to sell some of its power plants.

Partners John J. Kelley III, C. William Baxley, Lisa R. Blanco and William B. Shearer III were the lead counsel to Mirant on the company’s agreement to sell six U.S. natural gas-fired power plants for about $1.4 billion to LS Power Group of East Brunswick, N.J. Latham & Watkins advised LS Power.
