A FULTON COUNTY jury has awarded $4.4 million to the family of an Indonesian man killed in a car accident, rejecting defense arguments that the victim’s life should be valued on what he could have earned in his homeland instead of in the United States.

“That was really a primary issue in this case,” said David Dial of Weinberg Wheeler Hudgins Gunn & Dial. Along with partner Chole E. Dallaire, Dial represented Phoenix Corp., the owner of a tractor-trailer that ran a red light in Hall County three years ago and hit a car in which Wahyu Kuntoaji, 25, was riding.
