Three former Fulton County prosecutors and an ex-public defender are among the five names on Gov. Sonny Perdue’s short list to fill the vacancy on the Fulton Superior Court bench left by the departure of Judge Stephanie Manis, whose is resigning to assume senior status Oct. 31. The nominees are submitted by the Georgia Judicial Nominating Commission, chaired by Balch & Bingham partner Michael J. Bowers, and forwarded to the governor, who makes the final selection.
