The judge overseeing the murder trial of accused Fulton County Courthouse shooter Brian G. Nichols has indefinitely postponed the trial until the state agency responsible for funding the defense is able to come up with the money to continue.

In a five-page order released Friday afternoon, Judge Hilton M. Fuller Jr., whom prosecutors have asked the state Supreme Court to remove from the case, acknowledged the strain the oft-delayed case has placed on the families of the four murder victims and courthouse personnel.
