WASHINGTON AP – The SupremeCourt on Monday said it won’t consider an appeal by AT&T Inc. of a lower court decision allowing a class-action lawsuit against it to proceed.
At issue is whether the case involves securities fraud and therefore should be moved from state to federal court. Under the Securities Litigation Uniform Standards Act of 1998, a class-action lawsuit alleging securities fraud may be removed from state to federal court in order to ensure uniform enforcement of federal securities laws.
