The names of eleven lawyers and judges have surfaced as possible nominees for four vacant federal judgeships in Georgia’s Northern District.

The unofficial list compiled by the Daily Report includes three Fulton County judges, two DeKalb County judges, the Georgia ACLU’s former legal director, a former Atlanta schools general counsel, a federal public defender, a former state Democratic party chairman and two lawyers from prominent plaintiffs’ firms. Three African-American women made the list, along with three white women, four white men and a native of Peru. No African-American men are on the list.
