ATLANTA AP – A former accountant for Traveler’s Aid of Metropolitan Atlanta Inc. has been sentenced to two years in prison for embezzling more than $164,000.

U.S. Attorney David Nahmias said Thursday that 48-year-old Carolyn Edwards Herron of Lithonia diverted “funds that were intended to be used to provide food, shelter, medical care and financial assistance for some of Atlanta’s neediest residents.”
