Atlanta architect Richard Diedrich has produced a coffee table book that Sports Illustrated named the top golf book for 2008.

“The 19th Hole: Architecture of the Golf Clubhouse” is a 300-page, hardcover book that showcases 58 of America’s exquisite golf clubhouses, from the historic stone structure of Winged Foot Golf Club in Mamaroneck, N.Y., to the classic plantation home of Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta. The author provides details on each clubhouse, and the book is packed with more than 600 stunning images from world-class photographers. “Finally, a coffee-table book that shifts focus off the course and into the sanctums: the locker rooms, libraries, grill rooms and parlors of some of the game’s most storied American edifices,” said Sports Illustrated.
