The acidic and expensive battles that have marked some recent judicial campaigns on the state appellate level appear to be trickling down to the local level. And one of the more hotly contested local battles this year, in the Stone Mountain Judicial Circuit, has placed longtime friends and colleagues on opposing sides.

Linda Warren Hunter, a 17-year veteran of DeKalb County Superior Court, is being challenged by Decatur plaintiffs’ and family law attorney A. Thomas “Tom” Stubbs. Hunter is the only judge in the circuit who faces a challenger this year.
