A Georgia Court of Appeals panel has reinstated a $2.757 million legal malpractice verdict against Dahlonega lawyer Steven K. Leibel, whose former client said he missed a key deadline in her employment discrimination case.

The court’s opinion reverses a ruling by then-Fulton County State Court Judge A. L. Thompson. He had agreed with Leibel’s claim that his September 2008 trial was unfair because he discovered later that one of the jurors had been a defendant in an unrelated suit Leibel brought in 1992.
