Bryan M. Knight and James M. Johnson have left The Bloom Law Firm, a litigation boutique focused on real estate disputes, to start their own shop, Knight Johnson.

“I think very highly of both guys. I wish them much luck and prosperity,” said Simon H. Bloom III, who left Powell Goldstein in 2007 with Stephanie A. Everett to start his firm. Now the Bloom Firm has 11 lawyers, he said, estimating that about 60 or 70 percent of the work is defending builders and developers against their lenders. “It’s the niche that swallowed the norm,” he said.
