Attorneys for a man who suffered numerous ailments after consuming a misformulated nutritional supplement won a $2 million award from a DeKalb County jury last week.

A similar suit settled in April for $1.3 million, and the attorneys in the just-concluded trial said they hope the verdict will spur the defendants to return to the bargaining table to settle 31 pending cases involving the same products, Total Body Formula and Total Body Mega Formula. The flavored liquid supplements were the subject of a Food & Drug Administration investigation and recall in 2008, generating more than 200 suits in federal and state courts, the majority of which were settled en masse last year.
