House Republicans have introduced legislation to block the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s climate disclosure rule, a regulation the SEC has paused amid legal challenges to its statutory authority.
The legislation accompanied a House Financial Services Committee hearing Wednesday on the scope of the SEC’s climate disclosure rule. The GOP-led panel titled the hearing “Beyond Scope: How the SEC’s Climate Rule Threatens American Markets.”
