Following a nearly $3.5 million verdict in favor of an employee who was subjected to sexual and racial harassment by her former employer, a federal judge this week awarded the plaintiff’s Atlanta-based counsel more than $165,000 in fees and costs.

In November, a jury sided with Tiphony Marshall, a former office manager at Tidal Wave Response, awarding her damages for the harassment, along with lost wages, and punitive damages totaling over $3 million—one of the largest single-plaintiff employment discrimination verdicts in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. Marshall was subjected to sexually harassing and racist statements on a near-daily basis from the company’s owner, John Myers, according to her December 2021 complaint.
