Corteva, DuPont and Chemours were hit with a toxic tort lawsuit on Nov. 3 in North Carolina Eastern District Court. The suit, brought by Napoli Shkolnik and NS PR Law Services on behalf of Amy Godwin, Brooke Quinn and other plaintiffs, accuses the defendants of exposing North Carolina residents to harmful levels of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances or PFAs, also known as ‘forever chemicals,’ by discharging toxic substances from the Fayetteville Works Plant into the Cape Fear River. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendants. The case is 7:23-cv-01500, Godwin et al. v. Corteva Inc. et al.
