“It is a great place to try a case because, with a diverse jury pool, you have people not from here with different races and politics, unlike other Georgia counties where it might be all red, all blue or all white or all Black," said defense attorney Wrix McIlvaine. "… Having the experience with these bigger trials, with technology, being able to accommodate the media, makes it a great location for high-profile cases, even if it’s a venue transfer from somewhere else."
