The U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Georgia issued a ruling affirming summary judgment for police officers accused of violating an elderly woman’s Fourth Amendment rights by forcibly removing her from her home and having her sent to a hospital, which allegedly contributed to her death.

Judge Clay D. Land penned a May 10 order granting summary judgment to five officers from the Columbus Police Department.
