Theranos leaders Elizabeth Holmes and Ramesh “Sunny” Balwani are on the hook for more than $450 million following their fraud and conspiracy convictions.

The $452,047,268 joint restitution order from U.S. District Judge Edward Davila in San Jose falls short of federal prosecutors’ request for more than $877 million, or alternatively, full restitution to the victims. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of California identified 19 investors victimized by the fraud, but Davila said the government only established 12 victims by a preponderance of the evidence.
