Many people have turned a skeptical eye toward the growing field of artificial intelligence (AI). So many concerned scientists are so troubled by the latent dangers of AI that they have formed a union—the Union of Concerned Scientists—but they have not yet elected a shop steward, so nothing is getting done beyond a lot of individual and private handwringing.

In the meantime, a threat that could prove even more dangerous to mankind than artificial intelligence rears its head every day—organic stupidity (OS). You do not have to look hard to find serious examples of OS. Just run a search on Google for the dumbest things people say, and you will find that jaw-dropping stupidity abounds.
