A Cobb County State Court jury has awarded $10.5 million in a medical-malpractice lawsuit against United Obstetrics and Gynecology, the Howard Center for Women’s Health and Dr. Nicholas Chiera.

The plaintiffs, represented by Laura Shamp and Joshua Silk of Shamp Silk, sued Chiera and his employers after an untreated infection resulted in the loss of the plaintiffs’ unborn twins. The defense was represented by Gregory Talley, Beau Howell and Annika Register of Coleman Talley.
