Jack L. Rives, who has been the executive director of the American Bar Association since 2010, plans to step down in February.

He informed the ABA Board of Governors Thursday that he is leaving the position, according to the ABA’s announcement. Rives graduated from the University of Georgia School of Law with his J.D. in 1976, retired from the Air Force in March 1, 2010, and joined the ABA on May 1 (Law Day) in 2010.
