Application screening for Georgia’s judicial circuits to get COVID-19 relief dollars kicked off Wednesday, now that the first of five federal grant funding cycles has come to a close.

As of the initial cycle deadline of Tuesday, the Judicial Council of Georgia Ad Hoc Committee on American Rescue Plan Act Funding has received “at least two” grant applications seeking a portion of $110 million allocated to address the state’s case backlog, according to Supreme Court of Georgia Public Information Officer Kathleen Joyner Tuesday.
