The Georgia Supreme Court installed new chief and presiding justices Thursday during an emotional ceremony in the House of Representatives chamber at the state Capitol.

Outgoing Chief Justice Harold Melton gave the oath to former presiding justice and now Chief Justice David Nahmias and new Presiding Justice Michael Boggs before a crowd of judges, lawyers, friends and former Govs.  Sonny Perdue and Nathan Deal. Afterward they adjourned to the new Nathan Deal Judicial Center for a reception and guided tours. The event was broadcast live on the court website and is available on video.
