Summer associate programs in Texas range from virtual to in-person to something between, as firm leaders determined how they would handle the vital recruiting event at a time when offices are reopening, as more people get the COVID-19 vaccine, but are not fully open in many cases.

Even some firms with virtual summer programs in Texas offices are nevertheless also offering some in-person social events that are closer to traditional, such as baseball outings, dinners at partners’ homes and happy hours. That’s in stark contrast to the summer of 2020, during the heat of the pandemic, when firms had to get creative to offer memorable virtual social events.
