A grand jury has indicted a sitting district attorney on charges of bribery and other crimes.

Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr’s Prosecution Division brought the charges based on evidence gathered by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation against Paulding County District Attorney Donald Richard “Dick” Donovan. The DA faces charges of: bribery, O.C.G.A. § 16-10-2(a)(1); false swearing, O.C.G.A. § 16-10-71(a) (two counts); and violation of oath by public officer, O.C.G.A. § 16-10-1.
