A man who was run down by a patrol car as he attempted to run away after police caught him cutting doughnuts in a parking lot has settled his claims against the city government of Dunwoody, Georgia, and its officers for $400,000.

The settlement comes as metro law enforcement agencies work to control a surge in street racing and cars burning rubber during the COVID-10 pandemic, but the incident that led to Yadata Osman’s injuries occurred In September 2017.
