Kimberly Bourroughs Debrow, a DeKalb County senior assistant district attorney, has suspended her campaign for the state Court of Appeals. She was one of eight candidates vying for what was initially an open seat, but the incumbent, Presiding Judge Sara Doyle, is running for reelection.

Doyle had planned to run for Justice Robert Benham’s seat on the state Supreme Court, as he had indicated he would finish his term at the end of 2020 and not run for reelection. But he announced last month that he’d retire in March, a move that ended the election for his seat and allowed Gov. Brian Kemp to appoint Benham’s successor.
