More than 40 lawyers from Jones Day are representing Atlanta-based consumer products giant Newell Rubbermaid on its acquisition of rival Jarden Corp. for more than $15 billion in cash and stock. The deal was announced Monday.

The combination will create a consumer goods company to be called Newell Brands, which will be about 55 percent owned by Newell Rubbermaid shareholders. Jarden’s more than 120 brands include Sunbeam kitchen appliances, Coleman outdoor gear, Yankee Candle and yearbook and class ring maker Jostens Inc.
