The Georgia legal community has raised nearly $70,000 for the state’s food banks, but a big push will need to occur to reach the goal of $100,000 by Friday, the last day of the Georgia Legal Food Frenzy.

The money can go far, as the Atlanta Food Bank estimates it can turn every $1 into $9 worth of food. The competition is timed to coincide with the start of schools’ summer vacation, when thousands of children lose access to free and reduced-price lunches.
