Robins Kaplan is closing its 12-lawyer Atlanta office because three of the four local partners are approaching retirement—but the closure won’t happen until the end of the year or early next year.

The office’s managing partner, V. Robert Denham Jr., who’s 67, said it’s a “natural transition.” He and two other partners, A. James Anderson and William Stanhope, also in their 60s, are planning to retire. The fourth partner, J. Scott Culpepper, who is mid-career, plans to move to Robins Kaplan’s new Silicon Valley office, Denham said.
