Perched high above downtown in the Georgia-Pacific Building’s penthouse dining room, Atlanta Legal Aid Society supporters geared up on Friday for this year’s fundraising campaign over a breakfast of grits, eggs, sausage and fresh fruit.

The annual campaign raises money from Atlanta lawyers for Atlanta Legal Aid’s operating fund. Contributions from law firms and corporate legal departments are the group’s second-largest source of funding, after the federal Legal Services Corp., making up about 20 percent of its $9.5 million annual budget.
