Paul Hastings partner Walter Jospin has been named the new Atlanta regional director for the Securities and Exchange Commission.

He replaces Rhea Kemble Dignam, who has taken a position as senior counsel for the National Exam Program of the SEC’s Office of Compliance Inspections and Examinations. Dignam became the SEC’s Atlanta regional director in 2010. In September the SEC named Liban Jama, the senior adviser to SEC chairwoman Mary Jo White, as her replacement, but he is not taking the position for personal reasons, according to an SEC announcement.
