A longtime developer will get to face off with Hollywood city commissioners over a soured real estate deal after a judge ordered them to appear for deposition and pay costs associated with a canceled mediation session.
Steven Berman represents one of three generations in a development family credited with building more than 1 million square feet in Hollywood since 1970. His family and its business, Firm Realty, collaborated with the city on two downtown projects. But Berman’s lawsuit claims the city stiffed him on a third by providing contaminated land in exchange for public parking and avoided working with him to find a solution.
