A Fort Lauderdale jury has awarded $3.6 million to a widower whose pregnant wife was killed when a drunken driver ran into a poolside cabana at the Riverside Hotel in Fort Lauderdale.

Schoolteacher Alanna Demella of Woburn, Massachusetts, was seven months pregnant when she was killed in March 2012. She and her husband won the trip to attend a marriage conference.
