With a tentative deadline set for lifting the ban on same-sex marriage in Florida, clerks of courts in individual counties stand ready to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples Jan. 6, the Palm Beach clerk of courts said Thursday.

On Wednesday, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit denied a request by Attorney General Pam Bondi to extend a temporary stay that U.S. District Judge Robert Lewis Hinkle in Tallahassee imposed.
