Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi’s request to have the state Supreme Court decide a challenge to the same-sex marriage ban may not be the quickest path to a final resolution.

Her motion to “pass through” a lawsuit now before Third District Court of Appeal would require a vote of the Miami court to send the case up or keep it. Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Sarah Zabel ruled the state ban was unconstitutional July 25.
