An Orange County jury awarded $20.7 million in damages to county residents who lost their citrus trees between 2002-2006 because of the state’s citrus canker eradication program.

Attorney Robert C. Gilbert of Grossman Roth in Coral Gables litigated the class action that led to the Monday verdict. The two-week compensation trial was before Circuit Judge Patricia Doherty.
