Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Victoria Sigler is a trombone-playing black belt in judo, a U.S. Rowing referee and tournament poker player and was, when she was first elected, the only openly gay elected official in the state.

Her “unplanned public outing,” Sigler said, came during “one of my moments of temporary insanity.”
