Terrence J. Russell (Melanie Bell)
Former Florida Bar president Terrence Russell has joined Holland & Knight as a partner in the firm’s Fort Lauderdale and Jacksonville offices.
Russell was previously at Fowler White Boggs, where he served as managing partner of its Fort Lauderdale office. Tampa-based Fowler White Boggs officially merged with Pittsburgh-based Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney earlier this month.
“I had a great opportunity with Holland & Knight,” Russell said. “I thought about it hard and figured you can’t do any better than Holland & Knight. It was the right choice for me.”
Russell focuses on complex commercial litigation and is board certified in civil trial and business litigation.
Russell served as president of the Florida Bar in 2001. In 2008, he received the Medal of Honor from the Florida Bar Foundation for his work in securing passage of legislation providing state funding for civil legal assistance for the poor.
Including Russell, four Holland & Knight lawyers have served as president of the Florida Bar and five have received the Medal of Honor.
Holland & Knight has 1,000 lawyers in 18 offices throughout the country. Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney has 450 lawyers in 15 offices nationwide.
Russell previously worked at the now defunct Ruden McClosky for many years.
