Two Fort Lauderdale attorneys had stellar reputations before they hooked their wagon to the star of Mutual Benefits Corp., a pioneer in betting on the death of seniors and terminally ill people for profit.

Attorney Anthony Livoti Jr. served as the trustee for the viatical purveyor, while Michael J. McNerney handled all legal services for Mutual Benefits, which became the most lucrative clients for his defunct law firm, McNerney, Morgan, Solomon & Tatum.
