Thomas J. Grant, son of legendary sock hop host Milt Grant, headed into Christmas week with little to smile about as his struggles to control his late father’s estate drag toward a sixth year.

Grant, 45, has been trying to remove the corporate trustee of the estate, Bessemer Trust Co. of Florida, and the trust protector of the living trust, Daniel Mielnicki of Berger Singerman in Boca Raton, claiming they showed bias by favoring his stepmother in distributions and have paid themselves excessive fees.
