Charlie Garcia, a Florida International University law graduate, was chosen for a plum position — clerking for U.S. District Judge Cecilia Altonaga in Miami next year.

“A federal judicial clerkship is one of the most sought-after jobs that you can get out of law school,” Garcia said. “But with the legal job market where it’s at and there are a lot of lateral moves by attorneys out there, it makes the process more daunting and difficult.”
