Some Miami Beach business owners don’t mind that the resort developer Genting Group plans to build thousands of hotel rooms and possibly a casino across Biscayne Bay.
They think instead that the biggest threat to the city’s tourism-based economy is the decline of the aging Miami Beach Convention Center, not the mega-destination resort planned for the site of the bayfront Miami Herald building.
