Intent on becoming the largest law firm practicing only in Florida, Gunster has been in merger talks with at least two Tampa firms without success and will shop for a merger partner in Orlando next.

West Palm Beach-based Gunster’s merger talks with Tampa-based Fowler White Boggs fell apart last year, the Daily Business Review has learned. The firm has confirmed it is interested in a merger with mid-size Tampa firm, Williams Schifino Mangione & Steady, but talks are on hold.
