An Alabama judge whose father worked with Thurgood Marshall to integrate the University of Alabama will speak Friday at the Palm Beach County Bar Association’s annual Law Day luncheon as part of events organized by South Florida voluntary bar associations.

Judge Helen Shores Lee of Birmingham is a former chair of the Alabama Ethics Commission and became the first black woman circuit judge in Jefferson County’s civil division in 2003.
