Miami continues to compete with New York in the number of international arbitration cases seated there, showing the city’s continued strength in resolving international disputes.

The American Arbitration Association reported 91 cases seated in Miami in 2023, while New York hosted 121 cases. Although Miami hasn’t surpassed New York in international arbitration cases since 2021, the only time that has happened, many local practitioners see the recent data as a sign that Miami has firmly established itself as a major player in the space. As a response, firms with local offices are open to beefing up those practices.
