Miami-Dade Clerk Harvey Ruvin died New Years Eve at 85 years of age. Calling Harvey, as he humbly insisted on being called by everyone, “Clerk of Court” is akin to calling Pele “a soccer player.”

Harvey, who often signed off with his signature, “I am, as always, so proud to be your Clerk!”, was a legendary public servant elected seven times to serve as the Clerk of Miami-Dade County since 1992. He was universally loved as a mentor, a role model and an inspiration to everyone that worked in the Miami-Dade justice system as a result of his tireless efforts to modernize our court system and improve how it served the citizens of Miami-Dade County.
