A man who was diagnosed with a brain injury after falling at a restaurant was awarded $4 million by a Santa Rosa County jury.

On Nov. 19, 2014 plaintiff John Ratzlaff, 56, a truck driver, arrived at a Church’s Chicken restaurant on Highway 90, in Milton. After he got his food, he turned to walk toward the dining area. He slipped on water that had accumulated on the floor. The base of his skull hit a countertop as he fell to the ground. His head then struck and bounced off the clay tile on the floor. Ratzlaff claimed a brain injury.
