Medical device manufacturer CooperCompanies and Utah Medical Products were slapped with a product liability lawsuit Friday in Florida Middle District Court over the manufacture and distribution of Filshie Clip tubal ligation devices. The lawsuit, brought by Griffin Purnell and Fisher Rushmer P.A. on behalf of four women, alleges the the companies failed to inform patients of risks associated with the product, in particular as a result of clips migrating after surgery. The case is 6:22-cv-00177, Rebando et al v. CooperSurgical, Inc. et al. Filshie.
