A jury awarded $1,625,000 to a woman who claimed that she suffered injuries in a 2018 motor-vehicle accident in Jupiter.

On Aug. 1, 2018, plaintiff Carol Blankenhorn, 71, a retiree, was driving on the westbound side of West Indiantown Road, near its intersection at a feeder road leading to Florida’s Turnpike, in Jupiter. While Blankenhorn was proceeding through the intersection, her sport utility vehicle’s left side was struck by a car that was being driven by Bruce La Vere, who was executing a left turn onto the feeder road, from the eastbound side of Indiantown Road. Blankenhorn claimed that she suffered injuries of her back, a hip and a wrist.
